There could soon be a new way for dog owners to mix and mingle with their furry friends in the Treasure Valley.

Two different “dog park bars” have applied for building permits, one in Garden City and another in Meridian.

The businesses are bars connected to dog parks where people can socialize, get drinks and food, and give their pets some exercise.

In Meridian, Idaho Pups and Ales filed a permit application to construct a similar facility.

The Meridian dog bar would be a 3,500-square-foot building with beer, wine, and coffee bars, as well as dog park facilities. Site maps filed with the city also show plans for a splash pad, a sweets truck, food truck parking, and an area for small dogs.

Idaho Pups and Ales is planned for the corner of Franklin Rd. and Outpost Ln. east of Ten Mile Rd.
